| I am researching my family history and one branch, the Titcombes,
seem to have come from the Faringdon area. My great grandfather, Luke Titcombe,
was born in Uffington in the vicinity of White Horse Hill. He and all his
descendents seem to have lived in North London but I was very interested to see
the sort of area they came from. Enjoyed the 'virtual tour' of Faringdon and
found the section on the 'White Horse' v interesting. Intend to visit when
time! Many thanks. Sarah Nicholls England sarah.nicholls2@tesco.net 18/06/06 |

| i'm just so overwhelmed when i saw again this nice little town on virtual tour, having been there for just a couple of days last june during my one-week tour of UK..where we were put up atthe sudbury hosue hotel and i usually walk down the london rd to get to the nearby sundry shop to buy a newspaper..it is really like walking down the memory lane when seeing this website. jiekero malaysia 02/11/04 Having just moved to Faringdon with my partner, and then promptly come to China to be with him on a work mission, it was lovely to visit home again and I can't wait to get back. Thanks for website. Margaret Harake 02/08/04 Hi Farringdon I used to run a pub called the Riddle/Queens, is it still open. Someone get hold of Tiggy jenkins for me and buy him a pint, and say HI to sue for me as well. Does anyone know Pete Holcomb, "BIKER" Martin, Chris Heeks,AD Hudspeth, (I think ?), Jasper Cox, Pip Durham, Pete Murby, my god the list goes on. Say hello for me I live in America at the moment, and if I ever get home we will get together for another meeting of the Alf Garnet appreciation societyBest wishes from JazzP.S. ask tiggy if he knows a plumber who is not a liar Paul Hook Aka Jazz 10/06/04 While my father was stationed at Brize Norton in the late 50's/early 60's, I was a frequent vistor to Faringdon; we lived in Little Coxwell. Upon our arrival, in the area, we stayed at the Crown Hotel. I have very fond memories. I read many books from the library that used to occupy the top portion of the meeting hall. Georgia Berg 12/05/04 I used to Leamington Drive some 35 years ago where has it gone? sandra foston 04/05/04 I lived in Faringdon from the age of 8 up until I was 25, when I moved to Perth Australia with my husband. It's lovely to be able to get on the web and see Faringdon again, it's certainly alot cheaper than getting on a plane! Having said that, I hope to head home to visit my family and friends in the not too distant future.. Jo Di Silivo 22/04/04 It´s very sad to be so far from gorgeous Faringdon but at least we can be there on internet.
